Mr Toad was born in the summer of ‘68, first hitting the hippy scene of Newcastle upon Tyne in the July. He enjoyed family life for many years before the children grew up and no longer wanted family adventures with their embarrassing parents, turning their backs on him in favour of cheap beer and Club 18-30 holidays.

So he left his Geordie roots in the late 80s, lured by the bright lights of London where he was used and abused by impoverished students and, in true student tradition, was left to languish in squalor for many years.

Shortly after the millennium, he was found neglected and unloved in an East London lock-up with no food or water. Many thought Mr Toad was destined for the great scrap heap in the sky but some kindly soul took pity on him and started a painstaking and costly restoration.

Since that time, Mr Toad has come to live with us and has had much love and attention lavished on him as is only fitting for a gentleman of his age.

He now enjoys days out and loves nothing more than taking part in weddings and proms and revels in the excitement of his new found fame – Mr Toad is a television star! Having made his TV debut, he has now found his calling in life and basks in the attention that being centre stage brings – watch out brides, he may want to upstage you on your special day!

So we hear you asking why is he called Mr Toad? Well, Mr Toad’s best friend is a vintage Eriba Puck caravan called Towed Hall and, in line with Kenneth Graeme famous portrayal, Mr Toad is a loveable character with bags of personality. Another difference, our Mr Toad is white over pale blue, not green!

In short, Mr Toad is very special – and he knows it!

Colin was born Cristiano the Campervan in 2005 in Natal, North East Brazil. For a few years he played on the Via Costeira, liking nothing more than the feeling of freedom and adventure that travelling the open road brings.

Tiring of a life of samba dancing, beautiful women and all night partying, his big adventure started when he packed his bags and turned his back on his native Brazil to travel 7,076km, arriving in the UK metropolis known as Bristol!

Renamed Colin, in all his sexy yellow gorgeousness, he now loves absolutely nothing more than the feel of the wind under his tyres, sitting around a camp fire, stargazing, laughter, good food and music. If there’s a bit of guitar strumming, all the better.

By day, Colin can seat up to five passengers. At night, he can sleep 2 adults downstairs and 2 small children upstairs (or another adult). He comes complete with a retro-style drive-away awning to increase his living and sleeping space (or to store your camping equipment whilst you hit the open road). He comes with everything you need for a trip away, even a bike rack - all you need to provide is your bedding, food and of course, a chilled bottle or two.

Retaining his iconic VW image, Colin can be trusted to take you on the journey of a lifetime. Maybe not a speedy one but you’ll enjoy the thrill of the journey as much as the destination. We think even a cup of tea tastes better when parked up in a campervan facing the sea, field or fell.

Essential requirements for driving Colin are you must toot and wave other VW Camper drivers, this is the law!

Colin is bi-lingual and happy to take you further afield if your wander lust so dictates.
